About Tacview

What is Tacview?

Tacview lets you replay and analyze your flights in a clear and intuitive 3D environment. Instead of relying on memory or incomplete reports, you can see exactly what happened from every angle. Whether it was a smooth approach, an intense dogfight, or a complex mission, Tacview helps you understand the full situation.

Virtual pilots, private pilots, instructors, and enthusiasts use Tacview to make debriefing more visual and effective. Raw flight data becomes something you can explore, question, and use to improve.

Tacview

Record

Tacview reads and records flight data from most major flight simulators and simulation platforms used by the community. Depending on your setup, it can also connect to certain real-time telemetry sources, including supported simulators and compatible ADS-B receivers.

Real-world pilots can open flight recordings directly using the GPX, FIT, IGC, and KML formats. Other data sources can be converted into the simple and widely supported CSV format.

If your simulator is not yet supported, you can consult the technical guides to see how flight data can be exported.

Tacview

Analyze

From the cockpit, it is difficult to see everything that is happening around you. Tacview lets you step back and view the situation with clarity. Replay trajectories, speeds, formations, and relative positions to understand decisions and their consequences.

Study radar detections, missile behavior, and air combat engagements in detail. Compare aircraft performance, observe energy management, and visualize key parameters using tables, overlays, and charts. You are free to export the data if you wish to continue your analysis with external tools.

Tacview

Understand

Tacview represents complex situations in a clear and intuitive way. Move freely through the 3D view, change perspective, or zoom out for a global overview. Focus on a single aircraft, a formation, or the entire battlefield.

Rewind instantly, isolate key moments, and consult detailed event logs and statistics summaries. Instead of guessing what happened, you can reconstruct the sequence of events and see how everything unfolded. Tacview can also be used to review flights together with friends or squadron members.

Tacview

Improve

The more clearly you understand your flights, the faster you improve. Reviewing them helps refine approaches, manage fuel more efficiently, and optimize aircraft performance. In combat, you can see who fired first, how missiles behaved, and how positioning influenced the outcome.

Whether you fly with friends, train in a squadron, or analyze real-world telemetry, Tacview helps you grow with every mission.
